Moria Chappell presents an extraordinary opportunity to learn her breathtaking Dark Fusion group choreography entitled “CARNAL RITE” which will be performed at

Tamarind Union 2025 as a highlight of the

festival’s Gala Show “Alchemy.”

The piece features dynamic mini solos that melt one into

the other, elevating the dance into a magical work of art.

“CARNAL” is a fusion bellydance choreography that channels raw emotions - sexy, angry, sad, and primal: this evocative piece feels like an ancient pagan ritual where the carnal meets the sacred in a visceral display of angst and mystery with an entrance and exit of a haunted lullaby.

A forest rite happened upon at the onlooker’s peril.

PART I & II

Moria's costuming has been heralded as unique and innovative. For the stage, the process of becoming a character, entering another realm, and understanding

the rules and function of this world can be intimidating.

COSTUME CAFÉ is a candid and open forum where

Moria shares with each student the basics of costume design, fit, and function. Color-combining, textures, fixtures, durability, and body types are all a prime

focus. Spanning the darkest to the brightest, these techniques can be applied to any fusion motif.

In COSTUME CAFÉ, you will learn the rules and then

how to break them while maintaining the spirit of Fusion Bellydance. You will also learn what works and what

doesn't for the stage; costuming's short cuts and long

cuts, how to turn the usual into the extra-ordinary, and

how to construct a masterpiece that is easy to take

on and off.

From initial inspiration to sewing the first stitch,

selecting the fabric to fitting-the-mood, dancers will

learn how and where to find the resources, as well as

the techniques and ideas necessary to begin, continue,

or rediscover your inner costume designer.

ALL dancers from ALL styles are welcome

and encouraged to attend!

Tunisian Fusion

TUNISIAN FUSION

Sunday, August 10 2 pm - 4 pm)

(2 Hours)

TUNISIAN FUSION is designed for the dancer who

wants to differentiate her dance and explore styles

of movement that utilize more complex rhythms

and high-energy combinations.

TUNISIAN FUSION places a strong emphasis on

twisting, unique posturing, and unexpected floor

patterns. Moving forward, backward, and up and down,

you will learn this intricate and exciting form of

ethnic dance and its combinations as they apply to

Fusion Bellydance.

The focus will be on the muscle conditioning necessary

for Tunisian fusion's famous twists, locks, drops,

and shimmies, as well as the intensive drills of

Tunisian combinations for moving as well as

stationary applications.

Folkloric and fresh, sweaty and unique,

TUNISIAN FUSION culminates in a

high-energy Fusion choreography.

Dance shoes are recommended.
