YOGA FOR BELLY DANCERS is designed to use the asanas and breathing techniques of a yogi to achieve the strength and physique needed to express bellydance’s most intricate moves.
The specific asanas Moria incorporate are a sun-salutation variation meant to warm the body from the inside out as well as a number of psoas and hip openers to deepen and allow for pain-free backbends.
Chest and torso lengtheners will help release the lower back and allow for a stronger fusion posture and torso articulation.
All levels are welcome.
In this exciting and informative workshop, Moria shares the lifted postures, torso articulations, arm positioning and hip movements that overlap to form fusion combinations.
For dancers who are new to Tribal Fusion, or for those who are looking for new fusion combinations and fresh inspiration, Moria will methodically, comprehensively, and creatively teach drills, patterns and choreography to help dancers invigorate their newfound fusion expression.
Example of how Tribal Fusion Fundamentals can be applied to a Tribal Fusion performance, in this case, an improvisational piece performed at TribalFestion in Austria.
COSTUME CAFÉ is a candid and open forum where Moria shares with each student the basics of costume design, fit, and function. Tribal Fusion offers a huge range of costuming potential.
In COSTUME CAFÉ, you will learn the rules and then how to break them while maintaining the spirit of Tribal Fusion belly dance. You will also learn what works and what doesn’t for the stage; costuming’s short cuts and long cuts, how to turn the usual into the extra-ordinary, and how to construct a masterpiece that is easy to take on and off.
From initial inspiration to sewing the first stitch, selecting the fabric to fitting-the-mood, dancers will learn how and where to find the resources, as well as the techniques and ideas necessary to begin, continue, or rediscover your inner costume designer.
COSTUME CAFÉ shows the dancer practical ways to create a dramatic costume for a solo or an ensemble piece. Please bring a pen and notebook and feel encouraged to bring your own costuming conundrums for question-and-answer.
In addition to discovering the magical sweet spots for unlocking the audience’s emotional reaction to your movement, you will learn what archetypal energy best fits stage right, stage left, downstage, upstage, and center stage.
The presentation begins with an informative and engaging PowerPoint presentation that clearly demonstrates the basic principles of the stage.
What are the danger zones on a stage? At what exact point does the audience breathe a sigh of relief? What is the single most powerful spot on stage?
All of these questions are answered as additional principles essential to staging are covered in detail.
Another dynamic element in creating and developing a strong performance piece is lighting and the color theory behind it. Learn what lighting colors make you look mysterious or cold, threatening or uplifting, sanguine, sharp, or alluring.
In STAGING & LIGHTING FOR DANCERS, Moria will share her years of practical experience with you in ways that make sense and can be remembered.
The goal of the class is to give the novice as well as the seasoned dancer the tools to immediately put these concepts to work in your next solo, duet, or ensemble piece.
The secrets of the stage are waiting to be unlocked.
In HAIR DESIGN, dancers will learn how to texture and segment their hair in order to provide a base-shape as well as a stable and sound structure upon which to add various buns, braids, and falls to create numerous unique and exciting looks.
Tribal hair construction also includes techniques on how to slim the cheeks, lengthen the face, trim down a large forehead, or open your face and eyes by using a variety of hairstyles.
With the growing popularity of braids, falls, twists, and up do's, more opportunities are available for purchasing wigs and incorporating hairpieces into your overall costuming and stage personality.
Learn what is a good investment and what should be avoided when purchasing hair to add volume, length, or as an embellishment.
Moria also offers practical advice on the use of artificial flowers and how to add eye-catching and light catching costume jewelry, lace, embroidered ornaments, or painted fans to your hair design.
In addition to techniques for hairstyles for the stage, Moria offers ways to create a functional tribal headdress that is both beautiful and practical for performance pieces, a video, or a photoshoot.
In STAGE MAKEUP you will learn the secrets of flawless stage makeup including water proofing, smoky eyes, false eyelash techniques, and amped-up lip and cheekbone enhancement.
Moria will review her favorite products, colors, and application techniques. She will also demonstrate the best use and applicability of a myriad of makeup brushes, glitter types, and bindi glue.
Dancers are welcome to bring their own makeup. Moria welcomes questions about what makeup you have collected or tried, as well as questions about how to enhance your personal features.
Learn master techniques that will make
your face pop and give your stage performance
or photoshoot that finishing touch.

Swishing a big skirt on stage is a great way to add fiery flair to a solo, duet, or group stage performance. Brandishing a skirt to a tribal-folkloric beat pumps up the audience and gets the energy rolling.
In her BIG SKIRT workshop, Moria explores Tribal Fusion’s fun and feisty side by sharing a new Tribal Fusion choreography “Strut and Swish.”
This face-paced piece utilizes skirt flourishes as well as quick-and-slow speed changes, elastic time sequencing, and draped suspension movements peppered with rapid-fire flurries of clustered musicality.
Big skirts go with most musical scores from badass Balkan to feisty Flamenco and jazzed up acoustic guitar. The following videos will give you an idea of how big skirts can add visual flounce and pizazz to a variety of Tribal Fusion or folkloric beats.
All Levels Welcome, Please bring a big skirt.
