(TEMPLE OF THE EARTH)
Tribal Fusion Bellydance Show
Directed by Moria Chappell
MAY 18th 2019
Mandira Luum is full-length tribal fusion bellydance
show starring Moria Chappell and Karla Magusha,
along with an extraordinary cast of talented dancers
from the Yucatán, Campeche, Chetumal,
and across the region.
This show is the culmination of a year's worth of
planning that resulted in a month-long intensive
during which Moria taught her choreographies,
archetypal-character development, how to
stage a theme, thematic costume design,
and hair & makeup techniques for the stage
created especially for Mandira Luum.
The show's choreographies emcompass
sacred temple dances Moria learned during
her studies around the world. They represent
a conversation between a wide range of
dance styles including Cambodian Apsara Dance,
Javanese Fusion, Hula Fusion, Odissi Fusion,
Tunisian Fusion, Middle Eastern & Tribal Fusion
Belly Dance, and Yogini Fusion.
For four months the dancers in Mexico have rehearsed
these choreographies while sewing their costumes
and practicing Moria's hair & makeup techniques.
On May 18th, Mandira Luum will be presented
at the Teatro Libertad in Merida, Mexico.
Experience the ancient ancestors
come alive again through dance.
